About Me

My first NES

Hey guys, Russ Lyman here, and welcome to my about me section. From a young age I have always been fascinated by video games, and making videos.

My first game system was a hand-me-down Atari 2600 from my cousin, until my Dad bought me the Nintendo Entertainment System and I was instantly hooked.

Fast forward to high school in 1996, where I was able to be apart of the AV Club. We got to learn how to record videos and edit them. We even had a weekly show on Public Access, where some students would make edited segments to air on the show. Mine was called “Captain Art’s Arts & Craft”. I continued to learn more about video production as time went on and technology advanced.

Here was my first video camera, my mom got me after graduation

I made some fun videos with my friends with this camera, but mostly capture band practices and shows that we performed at. Than one day I stumbled upon this new website called Youtube. You can watch videos that other people created and upload your own as well. Ok it was first a bunch of Cat videos but as time went on, more and more people started using it and really making great use of the platform.

July 4, 2009 I decided to upload my very first YouTube video
Since then, I have learned so much!

It was a DIY video on me showing off a BaBomb prop I made from the Super Mario franchise. I was going to display it near my car at a local car show. I was justing using the web camera in my MacBook, and sure its terrible lighting, and the audio isn’t great, but I was able to share this with the world. To anyone who liked Mario, or perhaps DIY. That than begin my journey on youtube and as a filmmaker.

I’ve also met plenty of people along the way!

I will continue to strive to learn more and do my best at all the things I do, whether it be making videos, playing video games, or diving into a DIY project. I know I will always put my heart and soul into everything that I do, and I’m just so happy that I can continue to share that with the world.
